Data cleaning, as we all know, is a process used to determine inaccurate or incomplete and then improve the quality through correcting of detected errors and omissions. Data cleaning reduces errors and improves the quality of a data.
Phandeeyar, in partnership with Natural Resources Governance Institute (NRGI) held an Extractive Industries Data Cleaning Day event on Saturday, the 14 of March. NGOs and Civil Society Organizations working in the extractive industries sector actively participated in the event. The objective of the event was to get available EITI data into a machine readable format. This data could then be used, analyzed and visualized in different ways such as raising the awareness of citizens, program planning and conducting evidence-based advocacies.
