We had another engaging mapping meetup on June 22nd where around 15 people spent the evening for a lively discussion on theOpenStreetMap in Myanmar. Patrick Oswald of OneMap Myanmar shared briefly about what OSM is and not, current status of OSM in Myanmar, the use cases, opportunities and how we could grow the OSM in Myanmar.
Then there was a lively discussion over snacks and soft drinks from an inquisitive group of OSM enthusiasts. There was a huge interest in standardization issues and involving more groups/individuals as contributors. There were so much to discuss that the group agrees to continue the discussion, sharing and learning through a facebook group.
We are planning to hold the meetups on a regular basis, so if you’d like to join us, keep your eye out for the next event to be posted on Phandeeyar faecbook page and OpenStreetMap Myanmar facebook group.
