Technology for Research and Advocacy Training

Phandeeyar team was up in Myitkyina, Kachin State to gave a 4-days training on,” Data for Research and Advocacy” from 16 to 19 January. The training was attended by 21 participants from Civil Society Organisations based in Kachin, Kayin, Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Tanintharyi, Yangon and Chiang Mai. This was the continuation of a series of data workshops which was held at Phandeeyar back in November 2016.

At the training, the participants were introduced to data analysis, data visualization, social media and GIS tool that Civil Society Organizations can use to improve efficiency and effectiveness of their research and advocacy works.

As a result of the training, the participants came up with 9 interesting research and advocacy project ideas that they will be implementing in the near future.
